Airflow mode actuator (potentiometer) |

POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Airflow mode actuator malfunction
• Climate control unit malfunction
• Open circuit between airflow mode actuator and climate control unit
• Short circuit between airflow mode actuator (terminal B) and climate control unit (terminal W)

Diagnostic Procedure

• Disconnect airflow mode actuator connector.
• Disconnect air mix actuator connector.
• Is resistance between terminals C and E of airflow mode actuator as indicated below?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace airflow mode actuator. (See AIRFLOW MODE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

• Is resistance between terminals B and E of airflow mode actuator as indicated below?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace airflow mode actuator. (See AIRFLOW MODE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

|
• Connect airflow mode actuator connector.
• Disconnect climate control unit connector.
• Is resistance between terminals U and V of climate control unit as indicated below?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair wiring harness.
|

|
• Is resistance between terminals V and X of climate control unit as indicated below?
|
Yes
|
Replace climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No
|
Repair wiring harness. (Open circuit)
