SEAT BELT SHOULDER HEIGHT ADJUSTER WITH STRIPPED WELD NUT

1.  Remove the B pillar trim.

2.  Drill out the damaged threads in the B pillar upper structure using a half-inch drill bit provided in Seat Belt Guide Installation Kit or equivalent.

3.  Apply a suitable lubricant to the M14x1.5 tap provided in the Seat Belt Guide Installation Kit and tap new threads.

Note

•  After each rotation, back tap slightly to remove the new cuttings, and make sure to clean any chips before proceeding.

4.  Using a thread insert provided in the Seat Belt Guide Installation Kit or equivalent, screw it into the retapped hole until it is slightly below the surface of the hole.

5.  Using a hammer, lightly tap the installation tool provided in the Seat Belt Guide Installation Kit several times to install the insert keys.

Note

•  If the two-hex head bolts on the front seat shoulder strap adjuster are not damaged, install the height adjuster to the body. If the front seat shoulder strap adjuster bolt threads are damaged, replace the adjuster.
