VERIFY NUMBER OF PROGRAMMED KEYS

•  Using the M-MDS, perform the PID/data monitor inspection and verify the number of programmed keys.
(See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE[IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (PATS) (AJ (3.0L Duratec))].)

•  Are two or more keys programmed?

Note

•  Two or more keys need be programmed to start the engine.

Yes

The system is normal.

No

•  Using the M-MDS, clear the key ID number and program a new key if necessary.
(See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (PATS) COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/KEY ADDITION AND CLEARING[AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

•  Go to the next step.

Verify if any DTCs are displayed

•  Using the programmed key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

•  Is DTC B1213 displayed again?

Yes

Replace the PCM and perform the resetting procedure for the immobilizer system when replacing the PCM.

No

DTC inspection completed.

2		No	DTC inspection completed.
