Does the rear wiper operate normally?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.

No
|
Perform troubleshooting according to “No.10 REAR WIPER DOES NOT OPERATE.”(See No.10 REAR WIPER DOES NOT OPERATE[WIPER/WASHER SYSTEM].)

INSPECT WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH
Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Disconnect the GEM connector.
Turn the wiper and washer switch to the INT position.
Measure the resistance between GEM terminal 1F and ground.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
|
Go to Step 4.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT RELATED WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Disconnect the wiper and washer switch connector.
Measure the resistance between GEM terminal 1F and wiper and washer switch terminal J.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
|
Replace the wiper and washer switch.
|
No
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
|

INSPECT GEM FOR NORMAL OPERATION
Disconnect the GEM connector.
Inspect for the following items:
• Corrosion
• Terminal separation
Connect all the connectors and verify that their positions are correct.
Operate the system and inspect for any malfunction.
Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Replace the GEM.
Clear the DTC.
Repeat GEM DTC inspection.

No
|
Verify that the system operates normally at this stage.
The malfunction may result from loose connectors or corrosion.
Clear the DTC.
Repeat the DTC inspection.
