INSPECT OTHER WARNING LIGHTS AND SECURITY LIGHT CIRCUIT IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

•  Do other warning lights and security light in the instrument cluster illuminate normally?

Yes

Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position, then go to the next step.

No

Inspect the instrument cluster, then go to the next step.

CONNECT M-MDS AND PERFORM DTC INSPECTION

•  Is DTC U1262 displayed?

Yes

Communication error between instrument cluster and PCM (SCP)

Inspect the wiring harness and connector between the instrument cluster and PCM.

•  Malfunction in the wiring harness and connector.

―  Repair or replace the wiring harness and connector, then go to the next step.

•  Wiring harness and connector are normal.

―  Repair or replace the instrument cluster.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT THE MALFUNCTION DOES NOT RECUR

•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

•  Does the security light operate correctly?

Yes

Troubleshooting completed.

No

Replace the PCM. If the malfunction recurs after reverifying the symptom, go to Step 1.

1		No	Inspect the instrument cluster, then go to the next step.
2	CONNECT M-MDS AND PERFORM DTC INSPECTION • Is DTC U1262 displayed?	Yes	Communication error between instrument cluster and PCM (SCP) Inspect the wiring harness and connector between the instrument cluster and PCM. • Malfunction in the wiring harness and connector. ― Repair or replace the wiring harness and connector, then go to the next step. • Wiring harness and connector are normal. ― Repair or replace the instrument cluster.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY THAT THE MALFUNCTION DOES NOT RECUR • Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. • Does the security light operate correctly?	Yes	Troubleshooting completed.
3		No	Replace the PCM. If the malfunction recurs after reverifying the symptom, go to Step 1.
