INSPECTION

INSPECT BRAKE LIGHT FOR MALFUNCTION
Disconnect the malfunctioning brake light connector.
Depress the brake pedal and apply the parking brake.
Measure the terminal voltage of the malfunctioning brake light.
Does the voltage exceed 10 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair the related wiring harness.

INSPECT MALFUNCTIONING BRAKE LIGHT GROUND
Measure the resistance between the malfunctioning brake light and ground.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
Replace the brake light socket.
No
Repair the related wiring harness.
