LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

2. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Liftgate Removal Note

1. Disconnect the liftgate wiring harness electrical connector located under the right rear of the headliner.

2. Release the wiring harness locator and position the harness outside of the vehicle body.

3. Disconnect the rear washer hose union located under the left rear of the headliner.

4. Release the rear washer hose grommet and position the hose outside of the vehicle body.

5. Remove the stay damper.

Caution

• Support the liftgate before removing the stay damper.

6. With a wax pencil, mark the position of each hinge and remove the four liftgate hinge to liftgate bolts.

7. Remove the liftgate.

Caution

• To avoid damaging the liftgate, this step requires an assistant.

Liftgate Installation Note

1. With the aid of an assistant install the bolts and align hinges to previously made alignment marks and tighten.
