SPARK PLUG CONSTRUCTION [AJ (3.0L Duratec)]
BUE011818110N02
• Iridium spark plugs with excellent durability and firing performance have been adopted.
• An extremely thin, iridium alloy center electrode is used in the center of the iridium spark plug. Durability has also been improved by the use of a platinum-tipped grounding electrode.
• By adopting the thinner (center electrode), the electric potential concentrates to the end of the electrode, therefore, the electric field is strengthened and the sparking voltage is lowered. As a result, stable combustion under any driving conditions has been obtained, and engine startability and acceleration performance has been improved. Additionally, based on the thinner center electrode, cold sparking has been reduced, and stable ignition performance under any driving conditions has been realized.
