PCM FUNCTION [L3 R.H.D.]

BUE014018880N01

Function Table

• Control of the output parts is based on signals received from the input parts.
• The control descriptions are as shown below.

Function

Contents

IAC
Controls the IAC solenoid valve so that an optimum idle speed is obtained according to engine operation conditions.
Fully closed throttle learning function
Learns the fully closed throttle position (voltage deviates due to deterioration over time) based on the signal from the throttle position sensor.
Variable intake air control
Controls the variable intake air solenoid valve and operates the variable intake air system to enhance the inertia charging effect.
Variable tumble control
Controls the variable tumble solenoid valve and operates the variable tumble system to improve intake airflow speed near injectors and cause a strong air tumble to occur in the combustion changer, thereby promoting efficient air/fuel vaporization.
Fuel injection control
Performs optimum fuel injection according to engine operation conditions.
Fuel pump control
Fuel pump operation that ensures safety and durability is achieved due to control of fuel pump relay energization.
Ignition control
Controls the ignition coil to provide optimum ignition timing according to engine conditions
Evaporative purge control
Controls the purge solenoid valve to introduce evaporative gas into the dynamic chamber while maintaining driveability.
EGR control
Controls the EGR valve to the optimum opening angle according to engine operation conditions.
HO2S heater control
Controls the heater in the HO2S for rapid sensor activation and stabilized sensor signal.
A/C cut-off control
Controls the A/C relay, turning the A/C on/off according to engine conditions, to maintain driveability.
Electrical fan control
Drives the main and additional fans according to engine conditions by sending a duty signal to the fan control module, thereby improving engine reliability and idle stability.
Generator output control
Controls energization to the generator field coil to provide an optimum generator output amount according to engine and electrical load conditions, thereby maintaining idle stability and load resistance characteristics.
On-board diagnostic system
Improves serviceability by detecting malfunctions in input/output signals, reading out of signals, operation of input/output parts and other functions.
Display function
ECT signal
• The PCM assimilates the ECT sensor signal and sends it to the water temperature gauge in the instrument cluster for display.
Malfunction indicator lamp control
• When there is a malfunction in any engine control signal, the malfunction indicator lamp illuminates to advise the driver of an engine malfunction.
Generator warning light control
• When there is a malfunction in a generator control signal, the generator warning light illuminates to advise the driver of a generator malfunction.
