OIL PRESSURE INSPECTION [YF (2.0L Zetec)]

Note

• The halfshaft is removed for clarity.

1. Disconnect the oil pressure sender electrical connector.

2. Remove the oil pressure sender.

3. Connect the SST to the oil pressure sender installation hole.

4. Start the engine and warm it up.

5. Run the engine at the speed specified, and note the gauge readings.

• If the oil pressure is not a specified, inspect oil pump malfunction, oil strainer clogging, insufficient oil, and excessive oil clearance. Repair or replace as necessary.

Note

• The oil pressure can vary with oil viscosity and temperature.

Standard (reference)

370-550 kPa {3.78-5.60 kgf/cm², 53.7-79.7 psi} [4,000 rpm]

6. Stop the engine and wait until it is cool.

7. Remove the pressure gauge adapter and oil pressure gauge.

8. Install the oil pressure sender.

Tightening torque

27 N·m {2.8 kgf·m, 20 ft·lbf}
