OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT [AJ (3.0L Duratec)]

Warning

• Remove and install all parts when the engine is cold, otherwise they can cause severe burns or serious injury.

1. Position the splash shield (RH) out of the way.

2. Remove the oil filter using a filter wrench.

3. Use a clean rag to wipe off the oil filter mounting surface of the oil cooler.

4. Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring of a new oil filter.

5. Install the oil filter until the O-ring contacts the sealing surface of the oil cooler.

6. Tighten the filter 3/4 turns by hand.

Caution

• If engine oil is spilled on the protector under the filter, wipe it off completely. If the spilled oil is not wiped off, it will produce white smoke when heated.

7. Start the engine and confirm that there is no oil leakage.
