IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [YF (2.0L Zetec)]

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [YF (2.0L Zetec)].)

2. Disconnect the ignition wires.

3. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connectors.

4. Remove the bolts and remove the ignition coil.

Caution

• Correct installation of the ignition wires is critical to engine operation. If one spark plug wire is not correctly installed at either the spark plugs or the ignition coil, both spark plugs connected to the ignition coil may not fire under load.

• Apply small amount of the specified dielectric grease to the inside of the ignition wires, then install the ignition wires to the ignition coil.

- Specified grease: Motorcraft XG-3A

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
