HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) (EXCEPT AUSTRALIAN SPECS.), FRONT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) (AUSTRALIAN SPECS.) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ (3.0L Duratec)]

HO2S (LH) Removal/Installation

1. Lift up the vehicle.

2. Fold back the splash shield.

3. Disconnect the HO2S (LH) connector.

Note

• If necessary, lubricate the HO2S with Penetrating and Lock Lubricant E8AZ-19A501-B or the equivalent to aid in removal.

4. Using the SST, remove the HO2S (LH).

Note

• Apply a light coat of High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant F6AZ-9L494-AA or the equivalent meeting specification ESE-M12A4-A to the threads of the HO2S to aid in installation.

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

40 N·m {4.1 kgf·m, 30 ft·lbf}

HO2S (RH) Removal/Installation

1. Disconnect the HO2S (RH) connector.

2. Position the PCM harness protector tightening nut out of the way with the connectors still connected.

Note

• If necessary, lubricate the HO2S with Penetrating and Lock Lubricant E8AZ-19A501-B or the equivalent to aid in removal.

3. Remove the HO2S using the SST.

Note

• Apply a light coat of High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant F6AZ-9L494-AA or the equivalent meeting specification ESE-M12A4-A to the threads of the HO2S to aid in installation.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
