STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1
INSPECT FOR OTHER MALFUNCTIONS
• Is there any other malfunction listed in the symptom troubleshooting chart?
Yes
Go to the applicable diagnostic procedure.
No
Go to the next step.
2
VERIFY THE MALFUNCTION
• Compare the frequency of front wheel slip between 4WD lock mode and 4WD AUTO mode.
• Is there any difference in the slip frequency?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Perform the diagnostic procedure "No.2 MODE CHANGE BETWEEN AUTO AND 4 X 4 ON IS NOT PERFORMED NORMALLY".
3
• VERIFY TIRE PRESSURE
• Verify the tire pressure.
• Is tire pressure within the specification?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Adjust the tire pressure and go to the next step.
4
COMPARE WITH OTHER VEHICLE'S TIRES
• Install the tires of the compared vehicle to the malfunctioning vehicle.
• Perform the driving test.
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
The 4WD system is normal. (The tires are the suspected cause)
5
COMPARE WITH OTHER VEHICLE
