AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [LA4AX-EL (CD4E)]

Caution

• After repairing a malfunction, perform this procedure to verify that the malfunction has been corrected.

• When this procedure is carried out, be sure to drive the vehicle at lawful speed and pay attention to the other vehicles.

1. Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (engine off).

3. Select the clear code function and clear the DTC.

4.• Verify that ATF level is normal.

5. Turn the O/D OFF switch on (O/D OFF indicator illuminates) and gradually accelerate vehicle speed to 64 km/h {40 mph}.

• Verify that the transmission shifts to 3rd gear, and maintain the vehicle speed and acceleration pedal opening angle for 15 s or more. (30 s or more at 1,219 m elevation {4,000 ft})

6. Turn the O/D OFF switch off (O/D OFF indicator goes out) and accelerate the vehicle speed from 64 km/h {40 mph} to 80 km/h {50 mph}.

• Verify that the transmission shifts to 4th gear, and maintain the vehicle speed and acceleration pedal opening angle for 15 s or more.

7. Decelerate using light brake pedal force. (brake light illuminates). Maintain this condition for 5 s or more.

8. Stop the vehicle for approx. 20 s.

9. Repeat steps 5-8 five times.

10. Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.

11. Make sure that the repaired DTC does not recur.
