• Are there any malfunctions with the following?
- Torque converter
- ATF level (low) pump cavitation
- Oil pump
- Engine drive accessories
- Cooler lines causing interference
- Drive plate
Yes
Service if necessary
No
Go to the next step
2
For noises/vibrations that change with vehicle speed
• Are there any malfunctions with the following?
- Engine mount
- Tires
- Drive shaft or joint shaft
- Differential (final drive/chain)
- Suspension
- Planetary gear sets
- Chain grounding to chain pan
- Forward one-way clutch
- Torque converter
Yes
Service if necessary
No
Go to the next step

Other noise/vibrations
• Are there any malfunctions with the following?
- Shift cable vibration grounding
- Cooler lines causing interference
Yes
Service if necessary
No
The problem is resolved

• Verify the test results.
- If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms.
- If the malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Bulletins and/or On-line Repair Information and perform repair or diagnosis.
• If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting is completed.
• If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the PCM.
