1	ATF • Are there any problems with the following? - Level - Condition (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) INSPECTION [LA4AX-EL (CD4E)].)	Yes	Service if necessary
1		No	Go to the next step
2	Powertrain control system • Are there any malfunctions with the following? - Electrical input/output - Vehicle wiring harness - PCM - Shift solenoid No.1 (SS1), Shift solenoid No.2 (SS2) - Transaxle range (TR) switch - Brake switch - TCC solenoid - Vehicle speedometer sensor (VSS) - Throttle position (TP) sensor - Turbine shaft speed (TSS) sensor - Electrical pressure control (EPC) solenoid - 3-2 timing/coasting clutch solenoid (3-2T/CCS)	Yes	Run OBD tests Perform DTC troubleshooting (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION [LA4AX-EL (CD4E)])
2		No	Go to the next step
3	Vehicle speed input • Is the vehicle speedometer sensor drive gear damaged?	Yes	Service if necessary
3		No	Go to the next step
4	Control valve body • Do any of the following malfunctions exist? - Bolts are not tightened to the specification - Gaskets are damaged - 3-2 timing valve, 2-4 accumulator valve, servo release shuttle valve, 3-2 control valve are stuck, damaged, or misassembled - Solenoid screen is blocked - Separator plates are damaged or blocked - Pressure tap plate/gasket are damaged - Shift solenoid No.1 (SS1), Shift solenoid No.2 (SS2), or 3-2 timing/coasting clutch solenoid (3-2T/CCS) are stuck or damaged	Yes	Service if necessary
		No	Refer to the appropriate shift for further diagnosis

5	• Verify the test results. - If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms. - If the malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Bulletins and/or On-line Repair Information and perform repair or diagnosis. • If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting is completed. • If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the PCM.
