RH FRONT DRIVE SHAFT SEAL INSTALLATION [LA4AX-EL (CD4E)]

1. Using the SST, install the RH front drive shaft seal.

2. Install the dust shield.

3. Install the joint shaft. (See JOINT SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [YF (2.0 L Zetec), AJ (3.0 L Duratec)].)

Note

• Clean the intermediate shaft before assembly. Use 600 grit sandpaper on seal journals and wipe dry.

4. Install the heat shield.

5. Install the bolts.

6. Install the exhaust front pipe. (See FRONT PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

7. Inspect the transfer oil level. (See TRANSFER OIL REPLACEMENT [LA4AX-EL (CD4E)].)

8. Inspect the ATF level. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) INSPECTION [LA4AX-EL (CD4E)].)
