KEY INTERLOCK INSPECTION

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.

2. Move the selector lever to the N position.

3. Verify that the key interlock operates normally.

• If there is any malfunction, diagnose the cause.

Key interlock solenoid malfunction	Replace steering lock
Wiring harness malfunction between key interlock solenoid and P range switch	Replace wiring harness
P position switch malfunction	Replace selector lever
Wiring harness malfunction between P range switch and ground	Replace wiring harness

Standard


Selector lever position	Ignition switch position
P position	Can be turned ACC→LOCK
Not P position	Cannot be turned ACC→LOCK

4. Return the selector lever to P position.

5. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
