SHIFT LOCK INSPECTION

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

2. Verify that the selector lever is in P position.

3. Verify that the selector lever can be shifted from the P position when depressing the brake pedal and cannot be shifted when the brake pedal is released.

• If there is any malfunction, perform P position switch, shift-lock solenoid, and shift-lock relay inspection.

Standard

Brake pedal	P position→Any other position/range
Brake pedal depressed	Can shift
Brake pedal released	Cannot shift

4. Return the selector lever to P position.

5. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
