POWER STEERING OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [YF (2.0 L ZETEC)]

Removal

1. Remove the splash shield.

2. Remove the accessory drive belt.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

4. Remove the lower power steering pump bolts.

5. Lower the vehicle.

6. Remove the power steering pressure line bracket bolt.

7. Disconnect the power steering low pressure hose.

8. Remove the bolts and the power steering pump.

9. Disconnect the power steering pressure line.

Note

• Drain the power steering fluid into a suitable drain pan.

10. Using the SST, remove the power steering pump pulley.

Installation

1. Inspect the pulley for paint marks in the web area near the hub. If there are two paint marks, install a new pulley. If there is no paint or one paint mark, use a paint pencil to mark the web area of the pulley near the hub. Using the SST, install the power steering pump pulley.

Caution

• Install a new power steering pump pulley after the second removal and installation.

2. Position the power steering pump and install the upper bolts.

3. Connect the power steering low pressure hose.

4. Position the power steering pressure line bracket and install the bolt.

5. Raise the vehicle.

6. Install the lower power steering pump bolts.

7. Connect the power steering pressure line.

8. Connect the electrical connector.

9. Install the drive belt.

10. Fill, bleed and leak check the power steering system.
