Note

•  The following procedure is for replacement of the O-ring, oil seal, gasket, and shaft component. Replace the oil pump as a single unit if there is a malfunction in the oil pump body, cam ring, side plate, rotor, or other parts of the component.

1.  Disassemble in the order indicated in the table.

2.  Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

3.  After assembly, verify that the shaft rotates smoothly when turning it by hand.

Power Steering Oil Pump Component Disassembly Note

1.  Secure the power steering oil pump to the vise using the SST.

Shaft Component Disassembly Note

1.  Remove the shaft component using a press.

Oil Seal Assembly Note

1.  Install the oil seal to the pump body using the SST and a plastic hammer.

Shaft Component Assembly Note

1.  Install the shaft component to the pump body using the SST and a press.

Rotor Vane Assembly Note

1.  Install the rotor with the identification mark facing the rear cover.

2.  Install the ten vanes in the rotor with the rounded edges facing outwards.

1.  Install the cam ring with the identification mark facing the rear cover.
