PRESSURE LINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ (3.0 L Duratec)])

Removal

All vehicles

1. Lift up the vehicle. (See JACKING POSITIONS, VEHICLE LIFT (2 SUPPORTS) AND SAFETY STAND (RIGID RACK) POSITIONS.)

2. Disconnect the power steering pressure line.

Note

• Drain excess power steering fluid into an appropriate container.

• Do not drop the copper washer of the power steering pressure line.

3. Lower the vehicle.

L.H.D. vehicles

1. Remove the power steering pressure line bracket bolt to the steering gear.

All vehicles

1. Remove the power steering pressure hose.

(1) Remove the power steering pressure line bracket bolt.

(2) Disconnect the electrical connector.

(3) Loosen the fitting and remove the power steering pressure line.

Installation

All vehicles

1. Install the power steering pressure hose.

(1) Tighten the power steering pressure hose joint to the power steering pump.

(2) Connect the connector.

(3) Install the power steering pressure line bracket bolt.

2. Lift up the vehicle.

L.H.D. vehicles

1. Install the power steering pressure line bracket bolt to the steering gear.

All vehicles

1. Connect the power steering pressure and return lines to the steering gear.

(1) Connect the power steering pressure and return lines to the steering gear.

(2) Connect the power steering pressure and return lines to the steering gear.

2. Lower the vehicle.

3. Add power steering fluid, bleed the system, and then inspect the system for leakage.
