1. Operate the system and verify the malfunction indicated by the customer.

2. Referring to the following chart, perform visual inspection for obvious mechanical and electrical malfunctions.

• Large metallic objects, electronic devices on the key chain, or a second key on the same key ring as the immobilizer system ignition key
• Ignition key cylinder
• Key
• Unprogrammed key
• Two ore more immobilizer system ignition keys on the same key chain
• Central junction box (CJB) fuse
• Battery junction box (BJB) fuse
• Coil antenna
• Ignition switch
• Instrument cluster
• PCM

3. If the cause of the indicated or obvious malfunction is detected, repair as necessary before going to the next step.

4. If the malfunction is still present after the inspection, connect the WDS or equivalent, and then perform diagnostic test according to the display.

5. If any DTC related to the malfunction is read, refer to DTC TABLE and continue malfunction diagnosis.
