1. Operate the interior lighting system and verify the malfunction indicated by the customer.
2. Referring to the following chart, perform visual inspection for obvious mechanical and electrical malfunctions.

• Loose connector, damage or corrosion
• Interior light, map light, cargo compartment light

3. If the cause of the indicated or obvious malfunction is detected, repair as necessary before going to the next step.
4. Perform the DTC inspection using the WDS or equivalent.
5. If any DTC related to the malfunction is read, refer to the DTC TABLE [INTERIOR LIGHTS] and continue malfunction diagnosis.
6. If any DTC related to the malfunction is not read, refer to the SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART [INTERIOR LIGHTS] and continue malfunction diagnosis.
7. When DTCs not shown in the DTC table are displayed, refer to "DTC TABLE [GEM]" for the diagnosis system [GEM]. (See DTC TABLE [GEM].)
