Disconnect the wiper and washer switch connector.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Does the windshield wiper motor continue operating?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the wiper and washer switch. (See WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

INSPECT RELATED WIRING HARNESS FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage at wiper and washer switch terminal A.
Is there voltage?

Yes
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT RELATED WIRING HARNESS FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
Measure the voltage at wiper and washer switch terminal E.
Is there voltage?
|
Yes
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
|
No
|
Inspect the windshield wiper motor.
|
||
|
