INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER OPERATION IN LO POSITION
Does the windshield wiper operate normally in LO position?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No
|
Perform troubleshooting according to "No.5 WINDSHIELD WIPER DOES NOT OPERATE NORMALLY IN LO POSITION". (See No.5 WINDSHIELD WIPER DOES NOT OPERATE NORMALLY IN LO POSITION.)

INSPECT RELATED WIRING HARNESS FOR SHORT TO GROUND
Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
Measure the resistance between wiper and washer switch terminal M and ground.
Is the resistance more than 10,000 ohms?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair the related wiring harness.

INSPECT RELATED WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Measure the resistance between wiper and washer switch terminal M and windshield wiper motor terminal E.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
|
Inspect the windshield wiper motor.
|
No
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
