READ DTCS
Turn the ignition switch off.
Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.
Is any DTC present?
|
Yes
|
If GEM DTC B1352 is displayed, go to Step 4.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
INSPECT VOLTAGE AT KEY REMINDER SWITCH WITH OR WITHOUT KEY INSERTED
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
Measure the voltage at instrument cluster terminal 2Q with the ignition key inserted into the steering lock (ignition switch ON) and removed from the steering lock.
Is the voltage more than 10 V when the ignition key is inserted (ignition switch ON) into the steering lock, and 1.0 V or less when the ignition key is removed from the steering lock?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
If the voltage is 1.0 V or less under any condition, go to Step 4.
If the voltage is more than 10 V under any condition, go to Step 5.

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
INSPECTION
• Corrosion
• Terminal separation
• Connection status
Connect all the connectors.
Operate the system and inspect for any malfunction.
Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Replace the instrument cluster. Inspect the system for normal operation.
|
No
|
The system operates normally. The malfunction may result from loose connectors or corrosion.
|

INSPECT VOLTAGE AT KEY REMINDER SWITCH CIRCUIT
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the ignition switch connector.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage at ignition switch terminal D (harness-side).
Is the voltage more than 10 V?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Inspect the system for normal operation.

|
INSPECT KEY REMINDER SWITCH
Inspect the key reminder switch.
(See IGNITION SWITCH INSPECTION.)
Is the key reminder switch normal?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Inspect the system for normal operation.
|
No
|
Replace the ignition switch. Inspect the system for normal operation.
