1. Verify the customer concern.

2. Referring to the following chart, perform visual inspection for obvious mechanical and electrical malfunctions.

Visual Inspection Chart

Mechanical malfunction

Electrical malfunction

• Seat belt warning switch
• Light switch
• Key reminder switch (built into ignition switch)
• Door lock switch
• Transaxle range switch
• Central junction box (CJB) fuse
• Circuit
• Instrument cluster

3. Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2, then perform diagnostic test according to the display.

4. If any DTC related to the malfunction is read, refer to DTC TABLE and continue malfunction diagnosis.

5. If any DTC related to the malfunction is not read, refer to SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART and continue malfunction diagnosis.
