INSPECT FOR OPEN BATTERY SUPPLY CIRCUIT
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the GEM connector.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage at the following GEM terminals (harness-side).

Is the voltage more than 10 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Clear the DTC. Repeat the self-test.

INSPECT FOR OPEN POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage at the following GEM terminal (harness-side).

Is the voltage more than 10 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Clear the DTC. Repeat the self-test.

INSPECT FOR OPEN POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage at the following GEM terminal (harness-side).

Is the voltage more than 10 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Clear the DTC. Repeat the self-test.

INSPECT FOR OPEN GROUND CIRCUIT
Turn the ignition switch off.
Inspect for continuity between the following GEM terminal (harness-side) and ground.

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Inspect the system for normal operation.

INSPECT FOR OPEN GROUND CIRCUIT
Inspect for continuity between the following GEM terminal (harness-side) and ground.

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Clear the DTC. Repeat the self-test.
