Diagnostic Procedures

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1
INSPECT POWER OUTER MIRROR INPUT FOR NORMAL OPERATION
Disconnect the malfunctioning power outer mirror connector.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Set the power outer mirror switch to the malfunctioning power outer mirror side.
While moving the power outer mirror switch in the specified direction, measure the voltage and resistance at the malfunctioning power outer mirror.
• UP button: Terminal F 10 V or more, Terminal H less than 5 ohms
• DOWN button: Terminal F less than 5 ohms, Terminal H 10 V or more
• LEFT button: Terminal D 10 V or more, Terminal H less than 5 ohms
• RIGHT button: Terminal D less than 5 ohms, Terminal H 10 V or more
Is the measurement as specified?
Yes
Replace the power outer mirror.
No
Go to the next step.
2
INSPECT POWER OUTER MIRROR CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Disconnect the power outer mirror switch connector.
Measure the resistance between the power outer mirror and ground.
• Terminal D-ground
• Terminal F-ground
• Terminal H-ground
Does the resistance exceed 10,000 ohms?
Yes
Replace the power outer mirror switch.
No
Repair the related wiring harness.
