1. Operate the instrument cluster switch and the ignition switch, and verify the malfunction indicated by the customer.

2. Visually inspect the instrument cluster switch and the ignition switch. Refer to the following chart.

Mechanical malfunction

Electrical malfunction

• Ignition switch
• Steering lock
• Turn switch
• Hazard warning switch
• Wiper and washer switch
• Connection
• Battery junction box (BJB) fuse
• Central junction box (CJB) fuse
• Circuit

3. If the steering wheel is jammed, release the steering wheel by rotating it in both directions, and then verify that the ignition key is disconnected correctly.

4. If the switch malfunction is not visually evident, go to the Symptom Troubleshooting.
