INSPECT ILLUMINATION OPERATION
Turn the light switch to the TNS position.
Do the instrument cluster, climate control unit, audio unit, and hazard warning switch illuminate correctly?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|

No
|
Go to Step 4.
|

|
INSPECT ILLUMINATION POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
Disconnect the rear window defroster switch connector.
Measure the voltage at rear window defroster switch terminal A (harness-side).
Is the voltage 10 V or more?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
|
No
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Inspect the system for normal operation.
|
|

|
INSPECT ILLUMINATION GROUND CIRCUIT
Measure the resistance between rear window defroster switch terminal B (harness-side) and ground.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
|
Yes
|
Replace the rear window defroster switch. Inspect the system for normal operation.
|
|
No
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Inspect the system for normal operation.
|

|
INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
Inspect the instrument cluster connector.
Is the connector normal?
|
Yes
|
Operate the system and inspect for any malfunction. If the malfunction is still present, replace the instrument cluster. Inspect the system for normal operation.

No
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Inspect the system for normal operation.
