INSPECT HORN CIRCUIT
Turn the ignition switch off.
Remove the horn relay.
Does the horn continue operating?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Inspect the system for normal operation.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
INSPECT HORN RELAY
Inspect the horn relay.
Is the horn relay normal?
|
Yes
|
Install the horn relay, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the horn relay. Inspect the system for normal operation.
|

|
INSPECT HORN SWITCH CIRCUIT
Disconnect the clock spring connector.
Does the horn continue operating?
|
Yes
|
For vehicles with an immobilizer system, go to the next step.
For vehicles without an immobilizer system, repair the circuit.
Inspect the system for normal operation.
|
No
|
Go to Step 5.
|

INSPECT GEM INPUT
Disconnect the GEM connector.
Does the horn continue operating?
|
Yes
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness. Inspect the system for normal operation.
|
No
|
Refer to Section 09-14. Inspect the system for normal operation.

INSPECT HORN SWITCH
Disconnect the horn switch connector.
Measure the resistance between clock spring terminal A (harness-side) and ground under the following conditions.
• The horn switch is depressed: Less than 5 ohms
• The horn switch is not depressed: 10,000 ohms or more
Is the resistance normal?

Yes
|
Replace the clock spring.
|
No
|
Replace the driver-side air bag module. Inspect the system for normal operation.
