DASHBOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Caution
• The electronic module is sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.

1. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2. Remove the two front scuff plates.

(1) Disengage the four pins.
(2) Remove the two front scuff plates.

3. Remove the two A pillar lower trims.

(1) Disengage the two pins.
(2) Remove the two A pillar lower trims.

4. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors located inside the A pillar lower trim.

5. Position the bonnet release lever out of the way.

(1) Remove the nuts.
(2) Position the bonnet release lever out of the way.

6. Remove the console.

(1) Disengage the four pins.
(2) Remove the utility compartment.
(3) Disconnect the connector.

7. Remove the dashboard lower cover.

(1) Disengage the upper clips and rotate the cover outward to release the lower pivot retainers.

8. Remove the steering column lower cover.

(1) Remove the screw.
(2) Remove the steering column lower cover.

9. Disconnect the shift cable.

(1) Disconnect the shift cable.
(2) Disconnect the shift cable from the bracket.

10. Remove the steering shaft set plate.

11. Detach the steering shaft.

(1) Remove the steering shaft bolt and nut.
(2) Detach the steering shaft.

12. Disconnect the connectors.

13. Disconnect the climate control vacuum harness connector.

14. Disconnect the in-line connector.

15. Remove the four dashboard center member bolts.

16. Remove the passenger-side air bag module. (See PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

17. Remove the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

18. Through the instrument cluster opening, remove the dashboard nut.

19. Disconnect the vacuum connector.

20. Remove the glove compartment.

(1) Press the stopper inward while opening the glove compartment.

21. Disconnect the blower motor connectors.

22. Disconnect the connectors. (RHD vehicles)

23. Disconnect the antenna feeder.

24. Open the A-pillar assist handle covers.

25. Remove the two assist handles.

(1) Remove the four bolts.
(2) Remove the A-pillar assist handle.

26. Remove the A pillar trim.

27. Remove the dashboard top cover.

28. Remove the dashboard top bolt.

29. Remove the two side panels.

30. Remove the four dashboard side bolts.

31. Remove the dashboard.

Note
• Perform this procedure with at least another person.

32. Install in the reverse order of removal.
