Lighting and Horns: Description and Operation

Voltage is applied at all times to the I/P Compartment Lamp through the CTSY Fuse. When the I/P Compartment Door is opened, the I/P Compartment Lamp is grounded and turns "ON."
With Reading Lights, voltage is applied at all times to the Overhead Console through the CTSY Fuse. When the Courtesy Switch in the Overhead Console is moved to "ON," voltage is applied to the Courtesy, Reading, Dome and Engine Compartment Lamps. The Overhead Console, Dome and Courtesy Lamps can be grounded by the Front Door Jamb Switches, Sliding Door Jamb Switch, Liftgate Jamb Switches or Headlamp Switch, to be turned "ON." The Engine Compartment Lamp is grounded when the Hood is opened, turning "ON" the Engine Compartment Lamp.
Without Reading Lights, voltage is applied at all times to the Courtesy and Dome Lamps through the CTSY Fuse. The Courtesy and Dome Lamps can be grounded through the Front Door Jamb Switches, Sliding Door Jamb Switches, Liftgate Jamb Switches or Headlamp Switch to be turned "ON."
For vehicles with Keyless Entry, the Interior Courtesy Lights will illuminate if a remote unlock occurs. The lights will remain "ON" for 40 seconds or opens, the system waits for the doors to close. If one of the doors that was opened or closed was the driver's door, the Interior Lights will remain "ON" for 10 seconds or until the vehicle Ignition is turned "ON," after which the lights will slowly "dim-to-off." If the Interior Lights are turned on from a switch other than the driver's door (I/P Switch or other doors), the Interior Lights will immediately slow "dim-to-off."
