Technical values
Preliminary work

Removing rear three-point belt
WARNING
Incorrect handling of seat-belt pretensioner unit
- Triggering of seat-belt pretensioner unit
-> Observe safety regulations for handling seat-belt pretensioner units. -> 690000 Safety regulations for handling airbag and seat-belt pretensioner units
-> Observe disposal regulations for seat-belt pretensioner units. -> 6900AW Disposal of airbag and seat-belt pretensioner units
-> After disconnecting the battery, wait 1 minute before disconnecting the seat-belt pretensioner unit.
-> Remove ignition key and disconnect the battery. Route or insulate the ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier is avoided. -> 2706IN00 Work instructions after disconnecting the battery
-> If removed for an extended period, the seat-belt pretensioner unit must be stored in a safe place.
-> Transport the seat-belt pretensioner unit in such a way that the seat belt can retract safely if it is actuated.
Installation position of rear three-point belt
1. Identify position of seat belt mount with marking -2- for refitting.
2. Unscrew fastening screw -1- from belt fitting -arrow-.

3. Unclip electric plug connection from the bracket -arrow A- and remove it -arrow B-.

4. Loosen locking mechanism -arrow a- and disconnect electric plug connection -arrow B-.

5. Unscrew fastening screw from the belt roller -arrow- and remove seat belt.

Installing rear three-point belt
Information
Always replace the fastening screws on the three-point seat belt. The micro-self-locking screws must not be treated (e.g. greased) or loosened and then screwed on again.
1. Fit belt into the belt guide -arrow-.

2. Position belt roller.
3. Screw in fastening screw on the belt roller -arrow-.
=> Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)

4. Connect electric plug connection -arrow A- and close the locking mechanism -arrow b-.

- Route electric lines outside of the belt roll-up area.
5. Position electric plug connection -arrow A- and clip it into the bracket -arrow B-.

6. Align seat belt mount at the marking -2-.
7. Secure seat belt mount with a fastening screw -1-.=> Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)
Installing belt fitting
8. Perform a function test.
- The belt strap must be fully rolled up when the function test is started.
- Move the seat belt height adjustment to the highest position.
- Pull out belt strap completely as far as it will go.
- Roll up the belt strap again slowly. An audible clattering noise can be heard when you do this.
- If the rolling-up process is interrupted, the belt strap cannot be pulled out again (permanent belt blockage).
- The permanent belt blockage function must switch off at least 100 mm before the belt strap is rolled up fully, thereby ensuring that the belt strap can be pulled out again.
