Preliminary work

1. Remove front seat.

Removing front belt lock

1. Remove wire harness for belt lock.
1.1. Remove tie-wraps -1, 2 and 3- on wire harness for front belt lock.





Removing tie-wraps

1.2. Remove all relevant tie-wraps and holders for the belt lock wire harness as far as the connector socket.
1.3. Remove the split cable conduit -1- and expose the belt lock wire harness -2- as far as the cable sheathing.

1.4. Remove cable sheathing -1- by unwrapping it.

1.5. Remove tie-wrap -2- on the connector socket -1-.





Disconnecting connector socket

1.6. Release single connectors -3- ( -A- ) and remove them from the connector socket -1- ( -B- ).
2. Remove belt lock.





Removing belt lock

2.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1-.
2.2. Pull wire harness -2- out through the seat frame.
2.3. Remove belt lock and wire harness.

Installing front belt lock

WARNING

Incorrect handling of safety bolts

- Danger of injury
- Loss of torque

-> Always use new fastening screws and nuts following removal.
-> Observe specified tightening torques.
-> Carry out a visual inspection of all re-used parts.

Information

Always replace the fastening screws on the seat-belt buckle after customer service and reworking. The micro-self-locking screws must not be treated, greased or loosened and then screwed on again.

- When routing the wire harness for the front belt lock, ensure that it is routed without tension.

1. Fit the belt lock.





Fitting belt lock

1.1. Position the belt lock.
1.2. Fit fastening screw -1-.=> Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)
1.3. Guide wire harness -2- through the seat frame to the connector.
2. Fit wire harness for belt lock.
2.1. Plug the single connectors -2- into the connector socket -1- and check that the lock engages securely.

2.2. Fit tie-wrap -3- on the connector socket.
2.3. Fit cable sheathing -1-.

2.4. Route wire harness for belt lock -2- in the cable conduit and fit the split cable conduit -1-.

2.5. Fit tie-wraps -1, 2 and 3- on wire harness for belt lock.

2.6. Fit all relevant tie-wraps and holders for the belt lock wire harness as far as the connector socket.

Subsequent work

1. Install front seat.
