Removing adjustment fitting (seat belt height adjuster)
Information
After any accident, the seat belt system must be checked systematically for signs of damage. If damage is found, the entire seat belt system must be replaced.
Information
- The fastening screws must always be replaced. Micro-self-locking screws must not be treated (e.g. greased) or loosened and then used again.
Installation position of adjustment fitting
1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- on the belt deflector fitting at the B-pillar and remove deflector fitting -arrow A-.
Detaching belt at the adjustment fitting
2. Unscrew fastening screws -1- from the adjustment fitting and remove support plate for adjustment fitting -arrow A-.
Removing adjustment fitting
Installing adjustment fitting (seat belt height adjuster)
Information
The fastening screws for the adjustment fitting support plate must be replaced following removal for safety reasons.
1. Secure adjustment fitting support plate to the body with fastening screws -1-.
Adjustment fitting on
=> Tightening torque: 4.5 Nm (3 ftlb.)
Information
Once you tighten the fastening screw, the deflection lug must level out on its own in a vertical position or in the direction in which it is worn.
2. Screw in fastening screw -1- on deflector fitting at the B-pillar.
Deflector fitting on
=> Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)
Subsequent work
1. Install B-pillar trim. -> 706719 Removing and installing B-pillar trim panel - section on "Installing" 70671901 Removing and installing upper part of B-pillar trim panel 70671903 Removing and installing lower part of B-pillar trim panel
