Front Cover Oil Seal Replacement

FRONT COVER OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
- J35268A Camshaft/Front Main Seal Installer





1. Using a seal removal tool or screwdriver, remove oil seal from front cover.
1.1. Clean seal bore and oil drain back passage way.
1.2. Ensure that the oil drain back passage is free of RTV or debris.





2. Install oil seal.
2.1. Install new oil seal using Camshaft/Front Main Seal Installer J35268A.

IMPORTANT: Always ensure that the oil pump cover is properly supported when installing seal.

2.2. Ensure that front main oil seal is fully and evenly sealed.
2.3. Apply thin film of oil to seal lip.
