Underbody Heat Shield (Rear)
UNDERBODY HEAT SHIELD (REAR)REMOVAL
CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL, INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.
1. Hoist vehicle.
2. Remove resonator and muffler assembly.
NOTICE: Support the fuel tank before removing the fuel tank strap bolt.
3. Remove fuel tank strap bolt, which also fastens the heat shield.
IMPORTANT: The front and rear heat shields overlap and utilize common rivet attachment points.
4. Remove rivets.
5. Remove shield.
INSTALLATION
1. Position shield to vehicle, aligning front rivet locations, which are common attachment points with the front heat shield.
2. Install fuel tank strap bolt and tighten.
Torque:
Fuel Tank Strap Bolt: 25 Nm (19 ft. lbs.)
3. Install rivets.
4. Install resonator and muffler.
