Introduction

The transmission shifter may become progressively difficult to move on some 2004 - 2005 model year Sienna vehicles. The cable has been modified to correct this condition.

Repair Procedure

1. Confirm abnormal shifter resistance exists by moving the transmission gear selector between the gear ranges.

2. Replace the transmission control cable assembly by referring to the Technical Information System (TIS) for the applicable model year Sienna Repair Manual: Automatic Transmission / Trans: Transmission Control Cable Assy (ATM).

3. Reset power accessory functions per TSB No. EL009-04, "Power Window/Roof Initialization Procedures."

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
