INTRODUCTION:

The transmission shifter may become progressively difficult to move on some 2004 -- 2005 model year Sienna vehicles. The cable has been modified to correct this condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2004 - 2005 model year Sienna vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

PARTS INFORMATION:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Confirm abnormal shifter resistance exists by moving the transmission gear selector between the gear ranges.
2. Replace the transmission control cable assembly by referring to ETAS for the applicable model year Sienna Repair Manual:
Automatic Transmission / Trans; Transmission Control Cable Assy (ATM).
3. Reset power accessory functions per TSB No. 2061, "Power Window/Roof Initialization Procedures."
