Power Assist System (Brushless)

POWER ASSIST SYSTEMS: POWER STEERING SYSTEM (for Brushless Type Motor): C1521,C1531-C1534: Motor Circuit Malfunction
C1534 - ECU Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

If the power steering ECU detects these DTCs, it will shut off the motor relay circuit (built into the power steering ECU) and stop power assist. However, power assist continues if DTC C1533 or C1534 is output.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
If the steering column assembly or power steering ECU has been replaced, perform the rotation angle sensor value initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration Power Steering System (For Brushless Type Motor).

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Power Steering System (For Brushless Type Motor).

(b) Check for DTCs. Power Steering System (For Brushless Type Motor)

OK:

DTC is not output.

NG -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU Removal

OK -- CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
