DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when the certification ECU does not receive LIN communication signals from the ID code box via LIN for 10 seconds.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Engine Immobiliser System (w/ Smart Key System).

(b) Recheck for the DTC.

OK:

B2789 is not output.

NG -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - ID CODE BOX)

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure

2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - ID CODE BOX)





(a) Disconnect the E84 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the E79 box connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness connectors.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. REPLACE ECU AGGREGATION BOX

(a) Temporarily replace the ECU aggregation box (certification ECU) with a new one Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Engine Immobiliser System (w/ Smart Key System).

(b) Recheck for the DTC.

OK:

B2789 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE ID CODE BOX Removal

OK -- END (CERTIFICATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
