Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure

Note:
When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

1. Support the rear compartment lid with a suitable brace.

2. Remove the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement.





3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the rear compartment lid lock actuator (2).





4. Remove the rear compartment lid lock actuator to rear compartment bolts (1).

5. Remove the rear compartment lid lock actuator (2) from the vehicle.





6. Disconnect the rear compartment lid release cable (2) from the rear compartment lid lock actuator (1).

Installation Procedure





1. Connect the rear compartment lid release cable (2) to the rear compartment lid lock actuator (1).





2. Install the rear compartment lid lock actuator (3) to the rear compartment (1).

Note:
Do not fully tighten the bolts to the rear compartment lid lock actuator.

3. Install the rear compartment lid lock actuator to the rear compartment bolts (2).

Do not fully tighten at this stage.

4. Adjust the rear compartment lid lock actuator.





5. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the rear compartment lid lock actuator (2).





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

6. Tighten the rear compartment lid lock actuator to the rear compartment bolts (2) to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

7. If re-programming is required. Refer to Control Module References Control Module References.

8. Install the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement.

9. Remove the suitable brace from the vehicle.
