Parking Brake Front Cable Replacement (9C1 - Front)

Removal Procedure

1. Fully release the park brake.

2. Remove the front floor console front cover. Refer to Front Floor Console Front Cover Replacement (9C1) Front Floor Console Front Cover Replacement (9C1).

3. Remove the left side instrument panel lower extension side trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Extension Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side Instrument Panel Lower Extension Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side.





4. Loosen the park brake cable adjuster bolt (1) to provide slack in the front park brake cable.





5. Compress the front park cable retainers (1) and disconnect the cable end (2) from the adjuster arm.





6. Remove the front park brake cable bracket bolt (1).





7. Remove the front park brake cable bracket nut (1).





8. Disconnect the front park brake cable eyelet (1) from the park brake lever pedal assembly.

9. Carefully pull the front park brake cable assembly through the left side of the front floor console extension.

Installation Procedure

1. Carefully feed the front park brake cable assembly through the left side of the front floor console extension.





2. Connect the front park brake cable eyelet (1) to the park brake lever pedal assembly.





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the front park brake cable bracket nut (1) and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).





4. Install the front park brake cable bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).





5. Compress the front park cable retainers (1) and install the front park brake cable to the adjuster assembly.

6. Secure the front park brake cable to the retainers on the transmission shift control.

7. Connect the cable end (2) to the adjuster arm.

8. Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment (9C3) Parking Brake Adjustment (9C3)Parking Brake Adjustment (9C1) Parking Brake Adjustment (9C1).

9. Install the left side instrument panel lower extension side trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Extension Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side Instrument Panel Lower Extension Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side.

10. Install the front floor console front cover. Refer to Front Floor Console Front Cover Replacement (9C1) Front Floor Console Front Cover Replacement (9C1).
