Removal and Replacement




Engine Support Insulators









Removal

All engine support insulators

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. If servicing the RH engine support insulator, remove the starter motor.

3. Remove the 2 bolts and position the cooling fan shroud onto the cooling fan.





4. Remove the 4 exhaust Y-pipe flange nuts.
- Discard the flange nuts.






5. Remove the 4 engine support insulator-to-support insulator bracket nuts.

6. Using a suitable jack positioned on the RH rear of the cylinder block, raise the engine 25.4 mm (1 in).





7. Remove the engine support insulator-to-crossmember bracket nut.





8. Remove the 2 nuts and the engine support insulator-to-crossmember bracket.





9. Remove the 2 engine support insulator-to-cylinder block bolts and nut.

10. Using a suitable jack positioned on the LH rear of the cylinder block, raise the engine 25.4 mm (1 in).





11. Remove the 3 nuts and the engine support insulator-to-crossmember bracket.





12. Remove the engine support insulator-to-cylinder block bolts, or bolts and nut, and remove the LH engine support insulator.

Installation

All engine support insulators

1. NOTE: Clean the engine support insulator-to-cylinder block mating surface of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.

Position the engine support insulator being serviced and install the 2 engine support insulator-to-cylinder block bolts and nut.

- Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).


RH engine support insulator

2. Position the RH engine support insulator bracket and install the 2 nuts.
- Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).






3. Install the engine support insulator bracket-to-crossmember nut.
- Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).






4. Using a suitable jack positioned on the RH rear of the cylinder block, lower the engine.

5. Position the LH engine support insulator bracket and install the 3 nuts.
- Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).






6. Using a suitable jack positioned on the LH rear of the cylinder block, lower the engine.





All engine support insulators

7. Install the new 4 exhaust Y-pipe flange nuts.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).






8. Install the 4 engine support insulator-to-support insulator bracket nuts.
- Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).


9. If servicing the RH engine support insulator, install the starter motor.

10. Position the cooling fan shroud and install the 2 bolts.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
