DESCRIPTION
w/o Advanced Parking Guidance System:
The headlight leveling ECU assembly receives signals indicating the height of the vehicle from the rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH.
w/ Advanced Parking Guidance System:
The headlight leveling ECU assembly receives signals regarding the height of the vehicle from the rear height control sensor sub-assembly via the parking assist ECU.

PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B241A is not output.
NG -- CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
2. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION
(a) Check the vehicle condition.
Result
B -- CHECK FOR DTC (ADVANCED PARKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM)
A -- Continue to next step.
3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL Auto Leveling / Data List.
(e) Read the display on the Techstream.
HL Auto Leveling
OK:
Normal conditions listed above are displayed.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY - HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Connect 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
(b) Remove the rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH Components.
(c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 3 (SHB) and the negative (-) lead from the batteries to terminal 1 (SHG).
(d) Measure the voltage between terminals 2 (SHRR) and 1 (SHG) while slowly moving the link up and down.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY - HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR)
(a) Disconnect the A48 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the S3 rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Connect 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
(b) Remove the rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH Components.
(c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 3 (SHB) and the negative (-) lead from the batteries to terminal 1 (SHG).
(d) Measure the voltage between terminals 2 (SHRR) and 1 (SHG) while slowly moving the link up and down.

7. CHECK FOR DTC (ADVANCED PARKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM)
(a) Check for DTCs Advanced Parking Guidance System.
OK:
DTC "C1628 Height Control Sensor Circuit Malfunction" is not output.
NG -- GO TO ADVANCED PARKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM Advanced Parking Guidance System
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL Auto Leveling / Data List.
(e) Read the display on the Techstream.
HL Auto Leveling
OK:

9. REPLACE PARKING ASSIST ECU
(a) Temporarily replace the parking assist ECU with a new or normally functioning one Components.
(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B241A is not output.
NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY Components
OK -- END
10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU - AFS ECU)
(a) Disconnect the A48 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the L65 parking assist ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
11. REPLACE PARKING ASSIST ECU
(a) Temporarily replace the parking assist ECU with a new or normally functioning one Components.
(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
