Removal
HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: COOLER EXPANSION VALVE: REMOVAL
NOTICE:
When removing the cooler expansion valve by itself, be sure to install a new cooler expansion valve and new bolt for suction hose sub-assembly.
1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM Service and Repair
2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
Removal
3. REMOVE FRONT OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
4. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made) Removal
5. DISCONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for SIA Made) Removal
6. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE
(a) Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts.
(b) Temporarily install the bolt for the suction hose sub-assembly halfway to the cooler expansion valve.

(c) Hold the bolt and pull it to remove the cooler expansion valve as shown in the illustration.
(d) Remove the 2 O-rings from the No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly.
